For chapters of professional associations

Your chapter’s website, events and CPE, in one place.

Your board runs it. We look after it.

Chapter Manager gives a chapter its website, event registration, payments, membership and CPE certificates in one system, built first for ACFE chapters. We host it, back it up, keep it secure, and move you over from the platform you use today.

The problem

Chapter boards are volunteers

A board runs a website, events, payments, a member list and CPE, mostly in the evenings. The work is spread across tools that don’t talk to each other.

The same names, typed three times

Registrations in one place, a paper sign-in sheet at the door, and certificates in a word processor afterwards.

CPE falls to the board

Attendance by session, fields of study, a certificate for every attendee, and the attendance records the credentialing body expects. Boards often do this by hand, after the event.

Know-how leaves with each officer

Boards change every year or two. Logins, email addresses and how things were done go with the people who leave.

Fees on top of fees

Setup charges, automatic yearly renewals and a cut of every payment add up for a chapter on a small budget.

What a chapter gets

One system for what the board runs

Four parts that share one roster. A name entered once is there for registration, check-in and the certificate.

Website

A site the board edits itself

  • On your chapter’s own domain, with your logo, colors and menu.
  • Pages built from ready-made sections: text, images, upcoming events, board members, sponsor logos.
  • News, a photo gallery, and an officers and board page.
  • Documents such as your bylaws, linked from every page.

Events and payments

Registration that becomes the roster

  • Events with one or more CPE sessions, each with its own time, speaker and room.
  • Member and non-member prices, and discount codes.
  • Online registration. Each one goes straight onto the event’s roster, with no re-keying.
  • Card payments into the chapter’s own Stripe account. Stripe’s standard fees, and no platform fee from us.

Membership

One roster for the whole chapter

  • Membership tiers and renewals.
  • Members sign in to see their registrations and certificates.
  • A member directory.
  • Email to members from your chapter’s own address.

CPE

CPE without the paperwork

  • QR sign-in at the door, shown large enough to scan from the back of the room.
  • Set up for the credit your members earn: ACFE CPE, AICPA and NASBA CPE for CPAs, CLE for attorneys, or another continuing-education program, each with its own fields of study, credit hours and certificate wording.
  • Session check-in with the field of study and credit hours your program uses.
  • A certificate for every attendee, released and emailed in one step.
  • The attendance record your program asks for after each session, with the ACFE export ready by default.
  • Feedback by session and speaker, and a form for members interested in joining the board.
  • Name tags and sign-in sheets, ready to print.

We provide the certificates and records for each kind of credit. Your chapter remains the CPE sponsor, and keeping its approval to offer that credit is the chapter’s responsibility.

Looked after for you

Hosting, nightly backups, security updates and support are included. Nobody on the board has to be the webmaster or keep plugins up to date.

Moving over

We move you. Your board doesn’t do the technical work.

From StarChapter, Wild Apricot, WordPress, or a site a past officer built. We plan the move around your events and your current platform’s renewal date.

  1. We talk with your board

We look at your current site, your upcoming events and when your current platform renews.

  2. We build your new site

Your pages, documents and past events move across. Your member roster moves under a data agreement.

  3. We move your email

Your chapter’s addresses and forwards are working on the new service before anything is switched off.

  4. We move your domain

It stays registered in your chapter’s name. We manage it for you and hand it back whenever you ask.

  5. We switch over, then cancel the old platform

A short overlap first, so there is no gap. We send the cancellation for you, timed so you don’t pay for another year.

Your data

Your chapter owns its data

Your records belong to the chapter. Not to us, and not to whoever was treasurer last year.

Ownership

  • Export everything at any time: members, events, registrations, attendance, certificates, pages and files.
  • If you leave, you take it all with you, with a license to run the version you were on.
  • Your chapter’s records are kept apart from every other chapter’s.
  • We never hold chapter money, and we don’t sell or share member data.
  • Attendance records are kept for at least five years.

Security

  • HTTPS on every page. Disks and backups are encrypted.
  • Nightly backups, stored away from the server, with restores tested.
  • Two-step sign-in for the people who run the chapter’s account.
  • Security updates applied automatically, and checked every month.
  • No ads, and no tracking of your members.

Pricing

One price. No per-payment fees from us.

The subscription includes everything above. Add managed upkeep if you’d rather we kept the site current for you.

Questions

Common questions

Does anyone on our board need to be technical?

No. Board members edit pages, events and the roster in a web browser. We do the setup and the move.

Where does the chapter’s money go?

Into the chapter’s own Stripe account, and from there to the chapter’s bank account. We never hold chapter funds. You pay Stripe’s standard card fees and nothing on top to us.

Does it handle ACFE CPE?

Yes. Each session carries its ACFE field of study and its CPE hours, counted in 50-minute hours. Attendees check in by QR code. Certificates come from the attendance record, and the ACFE attendance export is ready after each session.

Who is responsible for our CPE approval?

Your chapter is. Chapter Manager provides the tools: check-in by session, certificates in the format each program uses, and the attendance records it asks for. The chapter remains the CPE sponsor or provider, so keeping the right to offer each kind of credit is the chapter’s responsibility. That covers its NASBA sponsor registration, CLE accreditation with each state, or its standing under the ACFE’s chapter rules, and meeting each program’s requirements for content, instructors, attendance, evaluations and record keeping.

What happens to our data if we leave?

You take it with you: members, events, registrations, attendance, certificates, pages and files. You also get a license to run the version of the software you were on. When you ask, we delete our copy, and our backups of it age out on their normal schedule.

Can we keep our domain and email addresses?

Yes. Your site runs on your chapter’s own domain, which stays registered in the chapter’s name. We set up email on that domain, with role addresses such as president@ and treasurer@ that pass from one officer to the next.

Can it handle our kind of CPE?

Yes. The CPE function is set up for the credit your members earn: ACFE CPE, AICPA and NASBA CPE for CPAs, CLE for attorneys, or another association’s continuing-education program. Each comes with its own fields of study, how credit hours are counted, the wording on the certificate and the attendance record your program requires. Tell us which credits your chapter offers and we set it up with you. We provide the certificates and records; your chapter stays the sponsor of its CPE.
